Safe Migration for Bangladeshi Workers Project has been implementing by Alliance for Cooperating and Legal Aid Bangladesh (ACLAB) in Pekua Upazila under Cox’s Bazar District partnership BRAC and financial support by Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) through BRAC and Managed by World Bank. The targeted beneficiaries of this project are Pre-migrant, Migrant, Returnee people, and their family.

ACLAB also founded Skill Development Training Centre in Pekua Upazila in Cox’s Bazar to provide Training on different trades. Already 50 Youth are received training successfully and 50 are receiving training on 1. Computer and ICT; 2. Tailoring; 3. Electrical Wiring and Equipment Installation; 4. Plumbing and Pipe Fitting; 5. House Keeping; — with 50% male and 50% female gender equality of young trainees including persons are disable. 

The Safe Migration Project of ACLAB is aiming to reduce vulnerability of migrant workers and their families through (i) better access to accurate and timely information and services for safe migration for both male and female migrants; and (ii) reducing dependency of migrants on middlemen by establishing and strengthening community-based organizations. 
The following services are being provided in the project: • Provide skill development training on 5 trades such as Tailoring, Housekeeping, Electrical Wiring installment, Computer & ICT, and Plumbing • Provide pre-departure and entrepreneurship training • Formation female groups with potential, returnee migrants and their family members at Union level • Open Safe Migration Information Corner at Union Parisad • Organize advocacy meeting with local government • Organize community level meeting and Upazilla and District level sharing meeting with different stakeholders. • Regular Coordinate with SMFC & CBO; • Coordination with local level stake holder, local club and journalist; • Data Collection on migration related; • Involvement all activity which is provide from BRAC as like support all types of training, field activity and other’s related activity; • Prepared referral format & Referral directory • Organize street drama, video show, court yard and community meeting; • Arrange pre-decision orientation • Organize orientation workshop for CBOs & NGOs; • Organize workshop on legal aid affair for migrants; • Provide accurate and timely information and services (Government initiatives, training, passport and visa processing, migration cost, travel documents); • Establish linkage with service provider organizations; • Provide information regarding the usage of remittance; • Observance the World Migration Day.
